Year 9 English are working on Advertising this term and the focus of their work is promoting R U OK Day. Our 9.3 class have put together a poem which reflects their ideas on how they feel about R U OK Day.
We the Belmore Boys want to know: R U OK?
Are you ok to come to school?
In 1927 a great place was started,
And in 2014 we feel proud to be a part of it.
If you want to succeed and get HSC
Or go to TAFE and become a tradie
Then come to Belmore it's the place to be.
Our school is for high achievers and all the believers.
Every day we will make sure that you are ok and we resolve to help you stay.
If you are sad, us boys at Belmore will make you glad.
You'll make friends and you'll be happy.
If you are not ok we will go down the back and kick back.
At Belmore it is easy to communicate with the teachers and they treat you with respect.
And it never ends, they listen to you and will be there for you, they care here.
If you fall we will pick you and make you ok.
If you feel that life is putting you down, we will pick you up again and help you to be ok.
If you go down the wrong path we will help you to get back on the right path and we will be there with you all the way.
This school has religion and respect and multicultural people we respect.
We don't accept bullying here at Belmore, we look after each other, we stick up for everybody.
We will not tolerate people being disrespected for who they are.
We will respect your God and your beliefs and make sure you can use your beliefs to help you through dark times.
You can play sport with us, we always try our best at footy and soccer.
Playing sport with your mates will make you feel ok.
We come to school prepared for our work and our mates, whatever they need we will offer what we can.
We will make you smile in five seconds time.
When you are down we will give you a pat on the shoulder and always listen to your problems.
Our gardens are great and you will feel ok walking through our trees and plants.
Our gardens will take the edge off your sadness.
Mr Chahrouk has given us a place with trees and gardens which make us feel great.
We want you to be ok, to feel ok.
When you are not ok we will be there with you the whole way, until you are ok.
We the BELMORE BOYS want KNOW that you are ok.
