Student leadership

Student Leadership at Belmore Boys

Belmore Boys' High School has a strong focus on student leadership and empowering students with a voice. The SRC and Prefect body make up the student leadership teams across all years and are highly involved in whole school activities and local community programs.

In 2013, one-third of students nominated themselves for the SRC.

SRC are voted in at the start of every academic year. Students nominate themselves by filling in a nomination form and giving speeches to their year group. Five SRC members are chosen for each year group and are responsible for liaising with students and teachers to raise student issues and concerns.

Prefects are voted in at the end of Term 3 and are the senior leadership team at Belmore. Prefects liaise with local community members and fundraiser for special projects within the school.

In 2013, student leadership teams participated in charity fundraisers such as World's Greatest Shave (Leukaemia Foundation) and are currently working with the Australian Red Cross to organise a blood drive with local schools in the area. Leadership teams also organise welfare activities for students within a whole school context.
